Conservative activists have created a Tumblr called “We are the 53 percent” that’s meant to be a counterpunch to the viral “We are the 99 percent” site that’s become a prominent symbol for the Occupy Wall Street movement. How did a failing California solar company, SunPower, buffeted by short sellers and shareholder lawsuits, receive a $1.2 billion federal loan guarantee? The money is for a photovoltaic electricity ranch project. The company received the money three weeks after it announced it was building a new manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico, to build the panels for the project.....more

The Pentagon on September 30, 2011 issued a directive to all military chaplains to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies and to make military chapels available for any such private ceremonies. Over 2,000 Chaplains are refusing that directive.....more
